Volunteer Breakfast
The
Volunteer Breakfast will be held in the gym on Friday, May 18th from 8:15-9:00
am. It is our way of thanking all of the wonderful people who volunteer their
time to make Vadnais Heights Elementary a great place to learn and grow. We
have parents,
grandparents, and community members who share their enthusiasm for learning
and their commitment to our students and school. There will be entertainment
provided by the drum circle and child care is available in Room 234, along
with a snack and drink for participating students.
Relay
Recess
On
Friday, April 20th, our entire school participated in the Relay Recess at the
Vadnais Heights Sports Center. Our TERI, Teacher Education Redesign Initiative,
Teachers through the University of MN coordinated the event from our school
and they are Angela Bianco, Caitlyn Fitzgerald, Dan Polski and Emily Toot.
Mike Johnston was our speaker for the openingceremony, Sandy Knutson provided
the vocal music during the walk, high school students hosted activities throughout
the dome for the students to play
and Keith Warner was our speaker for the closing ceremony. Our goal was to
educate our students about the importance of eating healthy, living healthy
and giving back to their community through volunteering and helping others.
The funds raised through donations were given to the American Cancer Society.
Students and their families are welcome to participate in the Relay for Life
held in White Bear Lake during July
