- Providing youth enrichment, leadership, and service
learning experiences that build self confidence, heighten school/community
connectedness and are attractive to all students.
- Examining current educational practices and how they
affect student learning.
- Implementing programs that provide health-promoting
knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes.
- Offering challenging and
supportive programs that build on the strengths of our youth
- Collaborating with families and the community to reduce
risk factors and enhance protective factors.
- Providing staff development opportunities to facilitate
learning experiences that guide and empower youth.
- Preparing teachers to effectively facilitate learning
for every individual student, no matter how culturally similar or different
from himself/herself.

- Engaging youth in problem solving, solution building, and decision making
