What does it mean to be an IB World School?

Matoska International was first authorized by International Baccalaureate Organization in the winter of 2010. Matoska is an authorized Primary Years Programme (PYP). PYP prepares students for the future, focusing on the development of the whole child as an inquirer. Students work on academic, social and emotional well-being, focusing on international-mindedness and strong personal values.

PYP is not a curriculum but rather it is a framework for organizing our curriculum, state standards and delivering instruction. Each grade level organizes their curriculum around the six Transdiciplinary Themes. At Matoska, students are encouraged to: be inquirers who make strong connections, use conceptual thinking, use critical thinking, collaborate with others, consider others perspectives, reflect on their thinking and take action.
