2012 Newsletter
Welcome
Welcome to the 2011 - 2012 school year! On behalf
of the teachers and staff of CMS we want to welcome you to what
we believe will be a rewarding and fulfilling school year. Middle
School is an exciting time for young adolescents and we look
forward to the challenges and joys of helping students mature
into young teens. Our heartfelt desire is to work collaboratively
with you to ensure that the transition from young adolescent
to young adult is a successful one.
School starts at 8:15 a.m.and concludes at 3:02 p.m. Because
teachers will be meeting and planning in the morning, we ask
that students not arrive at Central before 8:00 a.m. This will
allow the teachers time to plan their curriculum, field trips,
interdisciplinary units, homework assignments, and work on other
important middle school teaming and student issues. Because
teachers will be involved in these meetings, they will not be
available to supervise students before 8:00 a.m. After 8:00
a.m. students are welcome to enter the building.
Team names for students are related to the bear family. The
two eighth grade teams are the Grizzly bears and the Polar bears.
The two seventh grade teams are the Moon bears and the Sun bears.
The two sixth grade teams are the Glacier bears and the Panda
bears. We think you will enjoy the team names and look forward
to watching the creative juices flow from our teachers and students,
as to how our "bears" come alive.
We know that young adolescents between the ages
of 11 and 14 undergo more rapid and profound personal changes
than any other period of their lives, other than the first two
or three years of their lives. We accept this and gladly look
forward to the challenges and joys that await us. We look forward
as the journey continues in the 2011 - 2012 school year. We
want to help your son/daughter as they travel into their sixth,
seventh, or eighth grade year and look forward to sharing the
wonderful adventure with you.
Sincerely,
Noel Schmidt, Principal |
